Many schools invite me for two days:
a day of traditional author talks on Day One, and workshops on Day Two.
Addressing several artistic disciplines, this hands-on creative workshop offers students the opportunity to learn about opera, Mozart, book writing and illustrating as well as paper collage.
Students interact with me as I share how I used my “mind’s eye” to visualize scenes, settings, and characters for my book , The Magic Flute.
Participants will listen to the story and discuss settings and characters from the story which interest them. Then students will create their own 3-D piece of artwork out of a cereal box and various collage materials.
