True Sewn HandmadeBy profession, I write and illustrate picture books but I have always loved sewing. As I was developing my book career, I nurtured my love of sewing by working in theatre and dance costume shops.
Over the years I dreamed of making my own creations to sell. I collect beautiful antique linens from estate sales and whenever I travel. The locked-down days of 2020 helped me turn my attention to my own apparel designs. Now my Etsy shop allows me to imagine, create and sell garments with the vintage and global textiles I've been stashing away. Enjoy! |
Feedsack ClothingIt's easy to fall in love with the bold graphics of vintage feedsacks. Before 1960, grain was packaged in soft cotton sacks. I am always on the lookout for them online to make all kinds of fun clothes out of them.

Apron SkirtsSkirts made out of vintage aprons are one of my favorite things to make. The pretty cotton fabrics are so light and lovely! It's very fun to mix and match them for a bright skirt.

Quilt CoatsNothing is cozier in brisk weather than a beautiful vintage quilt -- except maybe a coat made out of one. I love to bring old quilts back to life by designing a one-of-a-kind garment.
