Designing and Sewing
In addition to creating books for children, I love to sew!
In college and beyond, I worked in theatre and dance costume shops. My oldest daughter is a dancer, and so I got to design and sew lots of costumes for her ballet company recitals and Nutcracker.
Now that she has graduated high school, I spend my spare time working on my own apparel designs and sell them on Etsy. My shop name is KyraTeisHandmade (see link below).
I love to collect vintage fabrics and interesting textiles from wherever I travel. My sewing room is stuffed full of these wonderful finds...all to be turned into clothing for friends!
