Ideas for Funding Author Visits

Several places to look for funding when planning a school visit are:

• PTA/PTO
• Title I
• BOCES (NY State)
• Grants from local organizations or business groups
• Donors Choose

Also, the profit margin earned from the sale of author books can help offset the cost of a visit. My books are offered at a discount to schools hosting me. Please see my Book Sales page for details.

If two or more schools coordinate visits in an area that requires travel, you can share the travel expenses. In addition, I offer a reduced rate of $1,000/4 talks to schools who arrange multiple bookings.

Up to 100 miles from Schenectady, NY:

$500 2 class periods

$900 4 class periods

Workshops, please inquire

Beyond 100 miles and/or requiring overnight stay:

$1,200 4 class periods (plus expenses)
